The Queer Parent: Everything You Need To Know From Gay to Ze
We wrote a booook. It's out on May 11th. Please buy it
Over the last year we have been beavering away on a book that we couldn’t be prouder of. It’s out on May 11th but you can preorder it now if you want to show your support. Pre-orders particularly through Amazon (unfortunately) really help writers get their books on to best-seller lists and help with exposure of the title. So even though it feels weird to order something now, that’s not going to arrive for another three months (!) it’s super helpful for us and a great way of endorsing all our hard work!
As Gay-Ze subscribers we are giving YOU and exclusive look at the book’s chapters:

And here’s a bit about what you can expect
Exploring everything from fostering and fertility treatment to co-parenting and dealing with homophobia, The Queer Parent is the essential handbook for anyone who wants to understand and support the full breadth of the queer experience.
There are more options than ever before for LGBTQ+ people to start families, but a lack of both specific LGBTQ+ focused information and mainstream representation can leave parents, prospective parents, friends and relatives in the dark. Authors Lotte Jeffs and Stu Oakley spoke to dozens of experts and queer families, and this hugely-needed book is the product of those conversations and their own experiences of becoming parents through IUI and adoption respectively.
While, as the authors point out, 90% of queer parenting is just… parenting, being queer when you’re a parent does bring with it a host of conundrums that mainstream guides – which tend to assume heterosexuality – cannot solve.
From adoption, surrogacy, fertility treatment and other routes to parenthood, to donors, trans parenting, how to deal with homophobia and much more, The Queer Parent is the must-have toolkit for LGBTQ+ parents, parents-to-be, and anyone looking to support and understand the journey. It is a book that redefines the family for the modern age.
We hope you like it!
